40th Independence Para Sport Championships, Vanuatu 2020

The Vanuatu Paralympic Committee celebrated the 40th Independence Anniversary of Vanuatu with the Inauguraly 40th Independence Para Sports Championships in partnership with Smash Down Barriers and Volley 4 Change, and supported by the Australian High Commission in Vanuatu.

Seated Volleyball, Vanuatu Volleyball Federation 2020

The Vanuatu Volleyball Federation has begun running seated volleyball sessions for people with disability in Port Vila and Santo through their Volley4Change program. Currently the program is running regularly in Port Vila in partnership with the Vanuatu Society for People with Disability. If you are interested in getting involved please don’t hesitate to contact the Vanuatu Volleyball Federation.

 Samoa Pacific Games, 2019

With only 5 athletes drawing in 4 medals we outperformed our expectations and are proud of our results. Full results can be found on the Oceania Athletics Results page however summary below. Our results prove that Team Vanuatu should continue to support and increase the quota for our Para Athletes and Individual Sports to continue to climb the medal tally ladder. 1.  VPC Inaugural Gala Night 2019 with guest speaker Kurt Fearnley

On Saturday the 24th September, 2019, the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee was proud to host the first Inaugural VPC Gala Night and honoured to have multi Paralympian Gold Medalist, Kurt Fearnley there to share his story. Kurt inspired the room with his journey to Paralympic success and called on the 230 attendees to find the rebel within them and support the Paralympic movement and people with disability in Vanuatu. The VPC would like to thank the Australian High Commission, Vanuatu for the gracious support towards making the night possible. Thank you also to everyone who attended on the night to make it such a success. We would also like to extend our gratitude to our wonderful volunteers from the Vanuatu Rowing Association and to our incredible photographers; Nomads Photography (Rillio Rii) and Ni-Van Photography (Kersome Richard) who's wonderful photos here take us back to that incredible night!

 National Para Athletics Competition, Tanna Vanuatu 2019

For the first time ever the @Vanuatu National Games 2019 will have an integrated National Athletics Championships including para athletics events. Thank you to the National Games organising committee, provincial team managers and @vanuatuathletics.vu for supporting the Paralympic movement in Vanuatu. Go Team Vanuatu!  “Ditch the Dis” Para Sports Day, 2018

Para Athletics Outreach, Malekula 2018

Malakula brought the talent at a recent Para Athletics athlete identification program in Lakatoro facilitated by the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee! There were 15 potential new athletes who participated and 3 potential new coaches identified. We are looking forward to building up this strong team to represent Malakula and Vanuatu! Again we have to thank our passionate and committed partners the Malampa Disability and Provincial Community Services supported by the Disability Desk at the Ministry of Justice Vanuatu, Athletics Vanuatu, Vanuatu Daily Post, Capitol FM107 for their continued support.  Para Athletics Outreach, Santo 2018

The Vanuatu Paralympic Committee facilitated a Para Athletics Talent Identification and outreach program in Luganville, Santo. It was a beautiful day at Chiefs Nakamal Sports Field, with 16 potential athletes learning Shot Put, Javelin and the 100m Sprint. The VPC was also excited to meet with 5 potential coaches who are interested in assisting to build up Para Athletics in Santo. This program would not have been so successful without the support of our wonderful partners; the Disability Desk at the Ministry of Justice Vanuatu, the VDPA Vanuatu -Vanuatu Disability Promotion & Advocacy Association, Medical Santo, Athletics Vanuatu, Vanuatu Beach Volleyball, Volley4Change SANMA Vanuatu Vanuatu Cricket, Vanuatu Daily Post, Capitol FM107.  Para Swimming with Wan Smol Bag at Mele 2018

The Vanuatu Aquatics Federation run para swimming sessions with Rainbow Theatre, Wan Smol Bag at Mele. If you are interested in joining these session please contact coach, Frank Vira at Wan Smol Bag. Here Frank is joined by Australian Volunteer, Tracy Elliott to run Learn to Swim sessions with these future para sports stars.

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

Para Athletics athletes; Friana Kwevira, Marceline Moli and Dephnny Naliupis, represented the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. They were supported by their coach; Deni Kalanga, their team manager; Jessica Richardson, and the President of the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee; Margaret Macfarlane. Friana Kwevira won Bronze in the Women's F46 Javelin. 

Van2017 Pacific Mini Games: Para-Athletics

Para Athletics athletes represented the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee at the Pacific Mini Games in December 2017 in Vanuatu. Peter Dick and Marcel Houssimoli took home Silver and Bronze respectively in the Men's 100m Sprint.

Van2017 Pacific Mini Games: Para-Table Tennis

Para Table Tennis athletes represented the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee at the Pacific Mini Games in December 2017 in Vanuatu. Mary Ramel took home Bronze in the Women's Ambulant Singles competition.

Victorian State Athletics Championships 2018

Para Athletics athletes; Dephnny Naliupis, Marceline Moli, Friana Kwevira and team manager; Jessica Richardson, attended the Victorian State Championships and International Classification Day in March, 2018. They were supported by the AGITOS foundation and coach, Christopher Nunn. Friana Kwevira took home Silver in the Women's F46 Javelin. 

Beach Volleyball Demonstration Match: Van2017

Vanuatu Para Athletics athletes enjoyed an invitation game of Beach Volleyball at the Pacific Mini Games in December 2017 in Vanuatu. 

Sydney International Rowing Regatta 2017

Para Rower; Georgess Langa, represented the Vanuatu Rowing Association and the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee at the Sydney International Rowing Regatta 2017. He made the A Final in the Men's PR3 Single Scull.

The Vanuatu Hockey Federation supporting people with an impairment from Rainbow Theatre to try Hockey at Wan Smol Bag.
